Yeah LDS church! This is the first really concise attempt I have seen by the church at presenting the majority of the facts about a controversial church history topic to members. In my opinion, this is the exact format the church needs to take. Present the facts (at least most of them), then try to talk about those facts in a faith promoting way. I think less members would be shaken if this is the new approach. If people hear the discrepancies from the church, I think there will be better retention of members. I still think some people will decide the story just doesn’t add up, and I think that is okay, but I think members will appreciate the higher level of transparency. This at least will prevent some of the feelings of betrayal members experience when they realize there are so many facts they simply were never told, since there would be fewer facts people would have never heard.
